After months of planning with the Local Authority, we can now announce plans for the development of King Edward VII which assures the school of a bright future and wider benefits for all our community. It amounts to a brand new 11-16 school, a new post 16 centre and improvements to community sport provision. Overall it represents a great opportunity for us to work together to create a bright future. For further information see below.
Developed by Lovejoys Consultants, the Masterplan sets out proposals for the school campus including:
To find out about this, you are warmly invited to join us in the Harris Building on 17 April between 4pm and 7pm to look at our plans, talk with our consultants and find out how to respond to the consultation.
We’ve just received the go ahead for building a new school on our campus to open for Years 7 – 11 in autumn 2011. We are working to complete a design brief for architects by the start of June and look forward to getting students involved in designing the new building. We are committed to making it an aspirational place which will help us to take our ambitions to the next level and offer
A full consultation on the designs will follow in the early summer.
Funding has also been secured for this innovative centre on our campus which will be operated by the partnership of schools from 2011. Architects and a construction company have already been appointed to the project and we are now working to put together a design brief by the end of the term. We have already involved a group of students from schools across the area in contributing to design and look forward to involving student further in making the centre a reality.
Overall, we believe this means a great deal for students already in school and those joining in the future. For younger students and those still in primary schools this includes an excellent Year 7 learning base, small classes and the high quality of care which only a small year group can bring.
