John Fullerton Writing Workshop
Writer John Fullerton was in school on Thursday 29th to offer his wisdom and experience to a group of year 10 and 11 students. John worked as a Reuters journalist for 20 years, out in the battlefields in places like Bosnia and Iraq. Upon leaving this position he took up fiction writing, “I use the fiction writing as a type of therapy for my time covering wars.” All of his novels are strongly rooted in the war genre and his latest novel ‘White Boys Don’t Cry’ is in shops at the minute. Arriva Bus
Mr Pinnock, Mr Mitchell and Mr Gibson have been involved in investigations with Arriva in relation to the 5b bus to Leicester. We have asked Arriva to look at a number of options including assigning a bigger bus but unfortunately they have just informed us that this is not possible and the service bus will remain as it currently operates.
Commended ICT Facility Award
The school has received 'Commended' status for the ICT Facility Award at the recent Education Business Awards: "King Edward VII School's development as an established technology college now sees the launch of a new Centre for Innovation and Creative Technologies. Led by advanced skills teacher Nicola Deacon, the centre promises to bring technology alive for children at Key Stage 3 and in local primary schools."
