The King Edward VII Governing body has produced an Option 6 as a solution to the future of King Edward VII

The Sixth option

King Edward VII will continue to play a major role in secondary education in Melton. It will remain as an 11-19 school, with a distinctive role within the overall Melton and Belvoir partnership

This will include:

  • Leading the management of the post 16 centre building on the schools acknowledged experience of a successful sixth form; the other partnership schools will be able to play a fully active part in the Governance of post 16 provision and their staff will contribute to teaching and curriculum development.
  • Providing a range of courses for the partnership at GCSE to enable all of the schools and their pupils to benefit from the specialist expertise that is available in the sixth form staff
  • Maintaining a small 11-16 unit that will continue to provide key stage 3 and key stage 4 courses

  • A curriculum and financial model for the 11-16 unit is currently being put together and looks very positive.
