Principal's Statement

I feel privileged to have been offered the opportunity to lead King Edward VII and I am delighted to introduce you to our school and hope to give you a flavour of our culture and the high standards we set ourselves. We know that choosing a secondary school is an important decision for you and your child and we would like to provide you with an opportunity to see what our thriving and successful school offers.

The success of any school is measured by the achievements of its students. At King Edward VII we believe every student can be successful and happy. Our approach is to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities with the aim of engaging every child so that they feel safe, are excited by learning and enjoy their time at school. Learning is at the centre of all we do and we aim to encourage all our students to become independent and confident learners. We strive to know them as individuals and to recognise their personal strengths and needs.

We are the only Specialist Technology College in Melton, which allows us a particular focus on Technology and ICT teaching. In addition, we achieved Sportsmark for the quality of our facilities, curriculum and opportunities for students in PE and Sport.

Your child has the opportunity to join us at a truly exciting time as the school moves forward with its new building and refurbishment projects. The school has also put in place a new 11-19 curriculum that enables us to offer innovative courses for Year 7 students and accredited applied and vocational courses for students aged 14+.

Our school goes from strength to strength, with a committed and experienced staff capable of teaching across the 11 to 19 age range. We have excellent facilities set within a supportive, caring and respectful community. At King Edward VII we have challenging expectations; our students are here to learn.

This is an open school; we warmly welcome visitors. If you would like to see us in action or to find out more please get in touch. Our students are proud of their school and love showing people around! If you are moving into the area or are looking for your child’s first secondary school then come for a tour. Those who do will discover a friendly, caring, committed school, a school with a definite focus on the individual and on achieving the highest standards of teaching and learning.
